Thirty years after the birth of Maffia Illicit Music Club (1995–2009), Tutte le mani del Maffia celebrates the legacy of one of Italy’s most unique clubbing and cultural experiences.
Created by the Maffia Collective – a diverse community of founders, DJs, graphic designers, theorists, artistic directors, creatives and organisers – the book brings together the club’s rich musical, artistic, visual, performative, literary and theoretical output.
More than a document of a legendary club, the book captures the creative energy of the late 1990s and early 2000s: the aftermath of the rave movement, the rise of new technologies, and the intersection of music, art and politics.
Through a deliberately chaotic and thematic structure, Tutte le mani del Maffia traces the story of a self-organised community that developed its own language, moving freely between popular culture and experimentation.
Over the years, Maffia Illicit Music Club hosted artists including Goldie, LTJ Bukem, Roni Size, Aphex Twin, Amon Tobin, Andy C, Andrew Weatherall, Fatboy Slim, Howie B, James Lavelle, Laibach, The Young Gods, Talvin Singh, Röyksopp, Shy FX, Photek and many others.
