Drawing inspiration from techniques that trace back to the very origins of cinema, this book pays a deep and thoughtful tribute to the profound relationship between image and movement. Virgilio Villoresi’s vision for this work was to bring Virginia Mori’s striking illustrations to life through a pre-cinema technique, reviving an age-old artistic approach. The result, Vento, emerges as a unique collaboration — a rich dialogue between the imaginations of both artists — that seeks to blend the timeless allure of hand-drawn images with the dynamic energy of motion.

This project marks the beginning of a new series of animated, interactive books, each designed to evolve over time. In Vento, the pages are not merely static images; they gradually unfold and transform, offering readers the opportunity to engage with the narrative in an open-ended way. As the pages turn, they allow the reader to construct and deconstruct the plot at their own pace, offering a layered, multifaceted experience. Each illustration in the book unveils its own distinct story, and through this process, readers are invited to imagine and explore the potential connections — or lack thereof — between the images. This creative freedom provides a deeply personal experience, where the reader’s interpretation and imagination shape the unfolding narrative.

Vento is more than just a book; it is an innovative exploration of how storytelling can evolve in the digital age, inviting interaction, interpretation, and an ongoing reimagining of the plot.
